ROLE : Head Chef

Full-Time - Contract Following 3 Months Probation

LOOK.Sharp is currently interviewing for a Head Chef to join our Team and become part of our unique evolving and growing concept.

We are a small top rated All-Day-Cafe of 24 seats in the historic centre of Porto with a Pan-Global concept producing delicious high quality international food with strong attention to presentation, authentic flavour & customer experience. Our menu can be considered vegetarian with vegan and some select low impact meat options reinforcing our values in sustainability.

We serve Breakfast from opening until midday with our Lunch/Dinner Menu running midday 23:00 offering from a cosy relaxed daytime retreat experience to a vibrant evening event and social community destination, unique in the city.

A Head Chef candidate will form part of the management team comprising a Day Front Manager, an Evening Front Manager & the Head Chef. The candidate will have experience & the skills understanding the responsibilities in planning and running a small kitchen for all members of the kitchen team including but not limited to:

  • Three Shifts of Cooking Service (Breakfast and/or Lunch/Dinner) per week

  • Two Shifts of Administration per week to include Financial Tracking & Control, Menu Costings, Kitchen Team Schedules & Hiring, Product Quality & Standards Control, Kitchen Systems and Operations, Hygiene, Kitchen Maintenance Coordination

  • Strong Communication and Cooperation with Owner and Brand Concept Chef

  • Develop and Maintain a strong collaborative energy between the kitchen team and front service

  • Kitchen Team Training & Coordination

  • Supplier Sourcing & Coordination

  • Kitchen Maintenance & Coordination

Details :

Salary : 1000€ - 1200€* less 11% Social Security Contributions

*Experience dependant with option to increase role with growth of the brand

Contract : 3 Month + 3 Month Fixed Term Contract Following Review to Permanent Contract

Typical Shift Hours** : 08h30 - 16h00 & 16h00 - 23h30

** Hours Adjust Dependant on day of the week and adjust seasonally to align with our market

Language : English (Portuguese a plus but not a requirement)

Start Date : 20th November 2023

In our first year as a new and increasingly successful concept, we will be looking to replicate the concept to more locations with a Head Chef that can manage and strategically plan the potential expansion in locations and service with dedication and enthusiasm for this predominantly English language international style business concept.

  • English - Fluent

  • Portuguese - A Plus for Supplier Coordination
